For a Senior developer, Tech Lead or Team Lead role there would be a Project Manager round — a critical step where your leadership skills, technical understanding, and business thinking are put to the test. Whether you’re applying to a software company, fintech startup, or enterprise IT firm, this round can make or break your chances.

In this post, we’ll walk through the most common and important IT Project Manager round interview questions, explain what interviewers are really looking for, and share helpful hints to structure your answers confidently — updated for 2025.

3. Project Delivery & Ownership

  • Tell me about a project you took from scratch to production.
  • What challenges did you face in delivering a key release, and how did you overcome them?
  • How do you ensure code quality and app stability in larger projects?

Hint: Share concrete examples. Mention tools like CI/CD, automated tests, code reviews.

4. Handling Deadlines & Pressure

  • What’s your code review approach?
  • What do you value most in a good teammate or team culture?

7. Scenario-Based Questions

You might also face some hypothetical or scenario-based questions:

  • What would you do if a last-minute change came before release?
  • How would you deal with a bug reported in production after a release?
  • What would you do if a teammate disagrees with your architecture choice?

If it’s an iOS Lead role, you can also expect:

  • Involvement in architecture decisions (MVVM, VIPER, Clean Architecture, etc.)
  • Driving technical discussions
  • Coordinating across multiple platforms (Android/Web/backend)
  • Ensuring code scalability, testability, and maintainability

How to Prepare

  • Reflect on 3-4 real project examples where you handled challenges or led initiatives.
  • Use the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) when answering.
  • Practice being concise but impactful in communication.
